A lot of Indians travel to Canada and most of them just people need a visa or an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) to travel. As more than 4{7cedf93ad3a6af36e2614cb55d7fd684605751b85e0d7870c13c844643491edc} of the total population of Canada consists of Indians, it is often called mini India.

Applying for an eTA Canada is a very simple online process. A number of applicants get their eTA approval within minutes of applying through an email. The process can, however, take few days if you need to submit any documents.

To apply for it, all you need is a valid passport and a credit or a debit card to pay the fees of 39 euro and a valid email address. Any Master card, Visa or American Express card can be used to make the payment. In case you are using a debit card, then it needs to be Visa, JCB or Interac Online. Once your eTA is approved, it is valid for five years.

Here’s how you need to proceed.

• Keep your passport and credit/debit card ready with you.
• Use an online form for Canada visa application. The information on this form cannot be saved and also you get limited time to complete the form. Thus, keep all information handy with you, else you will be timed out and you will have to go through the entire process from the scratch.
• After completing the form, pay a fee of 39 EUR using your card. With one form, you can apply and pay for only one person. Hence, for a family of four, forms need to be filled and submitted four times.
• Print the receipt right away as neither will you receive a copy of it, nor you can print it later.
• The approval will come in few minutes by e-mail unless you are required to submit any documents, which can take few days. The instructions for that will also come by e-mail.
